Through five decades of service, this quirky multi-sport palace with distant outfield fences and a fifty-foot tall beer sign that was in play for baseball games, hosted the Senators, Redskins, several Negro League squads, college teams, and many others. Each Spring the President would throw out the ceremonial "first pitch", and stars such as Walter Johnson, Goose Goslin, Harmon Killebrew, Sammy Baugh, and Bill Dudley gave fans plenty to cheer about throughout the year.
