Check off a tough box from your World Series program want list, with this 1931 Philadelphia Athletics edition. The only thing standing in the way of a "three-peat" for Connie Mack's last great A's dynasty, was their 1931 opponents the St. Louis Cardinals. Mack fielded a truly impressive team, led by Hall of Famers Jimmie Foxx, Al Simmons, Mickey Cochrane, "Lefty" Grove and Waite Hoyt. Though this monster squad had beaten the Cubs in the 1929 World Series, and the Cardinals in 1930, they fell two runs short in Game 7 of the 1931 Fall Classic. This scarce 1931 World Series program is (FR) with tape on the perimeter of the back cover, and serves as an excellent memento of the occasion, with the A's superstars pictured throughout, and the champion Cardinals seen on a team composite photo page near the rear.
