Winning three World Championships with the Yankees including a (3-0) record and 2.77 ERA in the World Series, George Pipgras (d.1986) was a valued staple in the Yanks rotation for eight campaigns. Presented is an impressive handwritten and signed letter penned by Pipgras (7) in black fountain addressed to Myrtle Huggins, sister of Yankees icon Miller Huggins. The opened letter measures 11x7 displaying smooth edges with the exclusion of the cropped return address on the upper right. Within the text, Pipgras, member of the 1927 Yankees, thanks Huggins for a team picture sent to Pipgras and briefly notes that all is well within the family. The quarter-folded letter displays only minor toning on period paper from shortly after Pipgras retired, neatly framed and matted to 18x14. Auction LOA from James Spence Authentications.
