Often compared to their 1927 predecessors as possibly the best team in baseball, the 1961 New York Yankees wreaked havoc on American League pitching, launching an aggregate 240 home runs on their way to a (then) club record 109 regular-season wins. Offered is a magnificent framed display that showcases the bold signature of (45) of those '61 Bronx Bombers. Housed in a 34 x 42-1/8 frame with pinstripe-themed matting, the central images are a black-and-white team photo and a 1961 World Series program. Surrounding those attractions are the coveted autographs, mostly on trading cards or index cards. With potency to match their antics that year, the signatures average (“9-10”) strength throughout. Includes: Arroyo, Barber (broadcaster), Bengis (batboy), Berra, Blanchard, Boyer, Cerv (inscribed “Maris and Mantle roommate”), Clevenger, Coates, Crosetti (coach), DeMaestri, Dickey (former coach), Ditmar, Downing, Duren, Ford, Gardner, Gonder, Hale, Hamey (General Manager, signed check), Hegan, Houk (manager, inscribed “The Major”), Howard, James, Kubek, Mantle (Perez-Steele card), Maris, Moses (coach), Murray (batting practice pitcher), Prudenti (batboy), Reed, Reniff, Richardson, Rizzuto (broadcaster), Sain (coach), Sheldon, Skowron, Stafford, Terry, Thomas, Torgeson, Tresh and Turley. Also appearing is Sal Durante, the Brooklyn native who caught Maris' 61st home run. Accompanying is a full photo LOA from PSA/DNA.
