Description

Known for his versatility (as well as for his antics with shaving cream pies), switch-hitting infielder Tomas Perez wore and signed this Philadelphia Phillies home jersey during the 2004 season, the first at the club's Citizens Bank Park venue. Complete description available on our website.

En route to a career-best six home runs, Venezuelan-born switch-hitter Tomas Perez wore this white knit button down garment during the 2004 season. The autographed jersey features a red pinstripe pattern and "Phillies" embroidered to a white plate across the chest. In red-on-white double twill, "9" is sewn to the back and left sleeve and "PEREZ" is arched atop the back number. Between the name and number, Perez's black Sharpie signature and inscription of "#9" project ("7") strength. An MLB silhouette logo is sewn to the base of the neck. On the right sleeve, an "INAUGURAL SEASON" patch celebrates the new ballpark, while an additional patch with a "POPE" ribbon likeness and a shamrock reading "TUG" respectively pay tribute to franchise staples Paul Owens and Tug McGraw, both of whom passed away between the 2003 and 2004 seasons. On the left front tail a "Majestic" label is sewn alongside a size "44" tag. Within the left seam, a fabric content tag bears an "0062" gamer code. A chain-stitched legend on the right front tail reads: "Opening Day - Citizens Bank Park - Philadelphia, Pa - April 12, 2004." The all-original jersey shows light wear. Accompanying is an LOA from Ed Dolan, as well as an auction LOA from James Spence Authentications.
