Former Golden Spikes Award recipient and Philadelphia slugger Pat Burrell wore this Phillies home jersey during the latter portion of the 2001 season. The white knit, red pinstriped button-down garment features “Phillies” embroidered to a white plate on the chest. In red-on-white twill, “5” is sewn to the back and left sleeve and “BURRELL” is arched atop the back number. At the base of the neck, an American flag patch has been sewn to obscure the MLB silhouette logo, as was custom throughout baseball in the wake of the 9/11 tragedies that year. The left front tail is home to a “Majestic” label and a size “48” tag and a fabric content “0062” code tag is sewn within the left seam. In 17 games following the 9/11 interruption, Burrell launched the final five of his 27 home runs. All original, the jersey shows light wear. Accompanying is an LOA from Ed Dolan.
